Express Yourself!

Opportunities for self-expression inside and outside the classroom abound at SUNY Oswego.

Our music and theatre departments offer many performance opportunities. Whether participating a college theatre production or any of our musical ensembles, you'll have many chances to showcase your talent! If you prefer to work behind the scenes in directing, stage management, lighting, sound design, costuming or other roles, we offer hands-on experience for these positions too. Clubs like the Shaun Cassidy Fan Club improv comedy troupe also provide an entertaining outlet.

If you're a visual artist, graphic design and studio art majors take part in exhibitions as part of the degree program. But any students of an artistic bent can submit for our Juried Student Exhibition or other opportunities in Tyler Art Gallery or public gallery space at Oswego State Downtown or the Metro Center in Syracuse.

If you're a writer or filmmaker, the department of English and creative writing lets you create and share poetry, short stories and other writings, or to make your own films! Journalists can hone their skills at the Oswegonian, our student weekly paper. Or if live broadcasting is your thing, WTOP and WNYO can plug you into TV and radio, respectively, with sports broadcasting, news, DJ shifts or more.

One thing is for sure -- if you want to express yourself in some way, we're here to help you make it happen!
