The Conflict and Management minor at SUNY Oswego is designed to introduce the student to the concepts involved in alternative dispute resolution. We live in a society that values skillful management of conflict.
The Conflict and Management minor is open to all students may choose one of three concentrations:
• Interpersonal Conflict, with focus on interactions among individuals
• Social Conflict, with emphasis on race, ethnicity, gender and class relationships
• Transnational Conflict, dealing with states' and organizations' politics
The Peace Education and Conflict Ehtos (PEACE) Institute offers new opportunities at Oswego for people interested in the analysis and resolution of conflict. The student and community service programs include two major components:
• The student-run Center for Mediation, located in Room 236 Hewitt Union
• Certification Programs
We offer certification programs through the Peace Institute. The institute provides training on demand to students, faculty, staff, community members and organizations in areas of conflict management such as:
