Mathematics

Proficiency tests in mathematics are available for purposes of placement and advisement. Students who will need calculus in their studies can take a test in basic algebraic skills to aid in placement.
Mathematics Proficiency Tests
A proficiency test which measures basic algebraic and trigonometric skills is available. Students desiring an indicator of probable success in calculus should take this test. Inquiries for more information should be directed to the Chair of the Department of Mathematics.

All students must pass a competency test in 'before calculus' mathematics as part of Mat 304.
Mat 304 is a prerequisite for student teaching. All students must show, by course work or demonstration to an advisor, competence in these technologies: graphing calculator, spreadsheets, general purpose mathematics software (e.g., Maple), and geometry software.
