To be eligible for New York State certification, all candidates registered in teacher education programs are required to student teach under a college supervisor who works cooperatively with a cooperating teacher to assist candidates in developing the needed teaching skills, knowledge, and dispositions. The Field Placement Office works closely with the Curriculum & Instruction Program, the Technology Education Program, and the Vocational Teacher Preparation Program to arrange student teaching placements for their teacher candidates. The configuration and placement procedures for student teaching placement vary depending upon your program.
