SUNY Oswego offers a dynamic five-year program that provides a solid background in business with advanced accounting skills. This allows students to earn two degrees over a five-year time frame, so you can save money and time compared to pursuing these degrees separately.
Overview
The professional experience of award-winning faculty will add a practical perspective to your study. Our pass rates on the Certified Public Accountant examination reflect well on our students and dedicated professors, some of whom teach in commercial review courses for the exam.
Student organizations like the Accounting Society and honor society Beta Alpha Psi, plus projects like the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, allow you to network, seek leadership opportunities and gain hands-on accounting experience. Explore internships and co-op positions, highly recommended for motivated students with good grades.
SUNY Oswego's Center for Accounting Research and Education supports research, scholarly and educational activities that can help expand your knowledge and qualifications.
SUNY Oswego's School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, which less than five percent of business schools worldwide have earned.
A Building for Business
Rich Hall is the dedicated home to the School of Business, where the majority of business courses are held. In addition to high-tech classrooms, there are study rooms for group projects, a business commons and a cafe to grab a quick bite between classes, internships and jobs.
Outcomes
At the end of this program, you will earn a master's of business administration and BS in accounting, designed to meet the standards of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, this program has been registered with the New York State Education Department for candidates seeking admission to the Uniform Certified Public Accountant examination.
