The Department of Educational Administration at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for a tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor position.
Review Date: Review of applications will begin on January 4, 2010, and will continue until the position is filled.
Salary: Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and previous higher education experience.
Date of Appointment: Fall 2010
Description of Responsibilities: Academic assignment will include: teaching graduate level courses in foundations of administration, principalship, and supervision; developing online courses in such elective disciplines as curriculum, personnel, school finance, organizational change, etc.; supervise administrative interns; foster and maintain strong P-12 field-based partnerships; and provide academic advisement for graduate students. Faculty member will coordinate departmental activities related to national accreditation with NCATE and its ELCC affiliate organization. She/He will maintain a strong research agenda to produce scholarly works in the field of educational administration, and will serve on department, school and university level councils and committees. He/She should also have a willingness and ability to travel for intern mentoring, supervision and off-campus teaching.
Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate in educational leadership or a closely related discipline; teaching experience at the graduate level; experience as a principal, central office administrator or superintendent in a P-12 school/district in the United States; documented evidence of successful leadership and administrative ability; commitment to problem-based and team-based authentic learning; dedication to the innovative development of school leaders who will promote all students’ abilities to succeed in a multicultural, global community.
Preferred Qualifications: Specific, in-depth knowledge of New York State Learning Standards and NYS Assessments for Building & District Leadership.
