AUDITIONS SLATED FOR 'DIARY OF ANNE FRANK'
OSWEGO -- Auditions for the SUNY Oswego production of "The Diary of Anne Frank" will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 2, and 6 to 10 p.m. Monday, March 3, in Room 46 of Tyler Hall.
Callbacks will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, March 4. The production, sponsored by the Blackfriars student group, will open April 25 and wrap May 4.
Anyone interested in auditioning can sign up in the theatre office, Room 105 in Tyler Hall. Those auditioning are asked to prepare a one-minute monologue from a realistic play demonstrating a range of emotions. Participants with a resume and headshot should bring them.
Thirteen roles will be cast for the play, with character descriptions available on the theatre department Web site, www.oswego. edu/Acad_Dept/a_and_s/theatre. The script is available for checkout from the theatre office.
"The Diary of Anne Frank," a drama about eight people hiding from the Nazis, ties in with the Oswego Reading Initiative that asked the campus community to read Ruth Gruber's book "Haven." Paul Savas, visiting assistant professor of theatre, will direct this new adaptation by Wendy Kesselman.
