OSWEGO -- The SUNY Oswego theatre department will open its spring season with the musical "The Secret Garden," premiering Feb. 28 in Tyler Hall's Waterman Theatre.
Jonel Langenfeld-Rial, director of the production and assistant professor of theatre, described "Secret Garden" as "a timeless tale where life's connection to the mysteries of nature is affirmed."
"The Secret Garden" follows a young and spoiled orphan, Mary Lennox, as she arrives on her uncle's estate. Mary uncovers and cares for a secret garden that has been locked away for 10 years. She also befriends her bedridden cousin, Colin, who believes he is incurable, and her mysterious uncle who is haunted by the ghosts of his past. This Tony Award-winning musical is an adaptation by Lucy Norman from Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic novel.

Morgan Cambs of Camillus and Allison Vanouse of Oswego play Mary, while William Darvill and Greg Lyons, both of Oswego, will portray Colin.
Jen McNiven portrays Lily, while Kevin Keleher plays Archibald Craven. Rachel Koes has been cast as Mrs. Medlock, Chris Boulter as Dr. Neville Craven, Erin Naughton as Martha, Zach Levin as Ben Weatherstaff, Sean Callahan as Dickon and Katie Keville as Mrs. Winthrop.
