THE 'KING AND I' WALTZES INTO OSWEGO STATE
OSWEGO --The enchanting tale of Anna and the King of Siam will come to life in Oswego State Universitys portrayal of Roger and Hammersteins "The King and I" July 18 to 22 in Waterman Theatre. This year celebrates the 50th anniversary of "The King and I".
"The King and I" is directed by Ron Medici and under the musical direction of Julie Pretzat. "This may be one of the few times audiences will actually hear the Kings role sung," says Julie Pretzat, musical director for "The King and I."
Anna will be portrayed by Anastasia Meehan, a theatre and English major at Oswego State University. Meehan has sung with the Oswego College Choir and the Solid State Singers.
Other musical talents include Matt Dengler who is playing the part of Louis. Dengler has sung for the past three summers with the Waterman Summer Theatre and is a member of the Syracuse Childrens Choir.
