OSWEGO -- Local residents can take a free, anonymous self-test about alcohol and learn about alcoholism and treatment options at Alcohol Awareness Day on Wednesday, April 10, at SUNY Oswego.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the formal lounge of Hewitt Union.
Mental health professionals from the Counseling Services Center and LifeStyles Center at SUNY Oswego and the County of Oswego Council on Alcoholism and Other Additions will be on hand to answer questions and offer support or referrals to treatment services in the community. There will also be free educational materials available.
A panel presentation on "People Affected by Alcohol" will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and a woman who lost a child to drunk driving will speak at 12:30 p.m.
