OSWEGO -- Visitors to Tyler Art Gallery will see the best work of SUNY Oswego students at the 41st annual Juried Student Art Exhibition and Master of Arts Thesis Exhibition. The public is invited to view the admission-free exhibitions, which run from March 5 to 12 and March 22 to April 5.

The Juried Student Art Exhibition features 64 works from 44 students in a range of media. Jurors chose from a pool of 168 submitted pieces. The Student Association Student Art Exhibition Committee sponsors this annual showcase in the north gallery in Tyler Hall.

Elizabeth McDade, executive director of the Rochester Contemporary Arts Center, and Cara Thompson, a professor at Bryant & Stratton in Syracuse, served as jurors this year, and jurors' awards were added to existing honors such as purchase prizes by SUNY Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley and the Student Association.

The Master of Arts Thesis Exhibition features the work of five graduate students earning their degrees. Studio art majors Paulette Doremus, Tom Pullen and David Shaw and graphic design majors Devin Kerr and Nick Paigo showcase their creations in Tyler's south gallery.

Gallery hours are 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays. During the college's spring recess, Tyler Art Gallery will close from March 13 to 21. Visitors with disabilities needing assistance to attend gallery programs should call Tyler Art Gallery at 312-2113.
