METLIFE EXECUTIVE JOINS BOARD OF SUNY OSWEGO'S FOUNDATION
OSWEGO -- At its recent annual meeting in New York City, the board of directors of the Oswego College Foundation elected one new member and reelected six members.
Thomas E. Lenihan of Morristown, N.J., was newly elected to the board for a three-year term. He is managing director of MetLife in New York City and a 1976 graduate of SUNY Oswego.
A 25-year veteran of MetLife, Lenihan now oversees the insurance company's pension and employee benefit plans, with assets under management of more than $7 billion, and has responsibility for various operating portfolios with assets totaling in excess of $25 billion.
He joined the company in 1978 after receiving his bachelor's degree in economics and computer science at Oswego and his MBA degree in finance from the College of William and Mary.
He and his wife, Lynn -- who is also a 1976 Oswego graduate -- have been active in the Oswego Alumni Association and in Syracuse area alumni events, since they spend their summers at their home on Skaneateles Lake.
Reelected to three-year terms were Barbara Shineman of Oswego; Stanley A. Babiuk of Houston, Texas; Mark Tryniski of Syracuse; and Joseph Yacura of Ridgewood, N.J. Reelected to two-year terms were Dee C. Heckethorn of Oswego and Errol B. Taylor of New York City.
