OSWEGO -- A serving of Broadway in Syracuse and a trip to Chilifest in Kingston, Ontario, are on the menu of upcoming activities planned by the Oswego Alumni Association.
Three up-and-coming Broadway performers -- Oswego alumnus Craig Schulman (class of 79), Anne Runolfsson and Cris Groenendaal -- headline "Broadway Nights" at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at the Civic Center Crouse-Hinds Theatre on State Street in Syracuse. Schulman has played the lead in "The Phantom of the Opera" and "Les Miserables." He will team with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra to perform music from memorable shows.
The alumni association outing includes joining Schulman at a dessert and coffee reception at Pascale's, 204 W. Fayette St., immediately after the show. Cost to attend both events is $40, with limited tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis.
On Saturday, Oct. 5, chartered coaches will take alumni and friends north of the border to Chilifest 2002, where more than 50 restaurants will provide samples at Confederation Park in front of Kingston's City Hall. The trip also includes an opportunity to browse the city's shops and dinner at a restaurant of one's choice.
Buses will leave King Alumni Hall at 9 a.m. and are expected to return around 10:30 p.m., with movies to watch on the way. Cost is $20.
