The best way to learn about SUNY Oswego is to visit. We offer several visit options to take a student-guided campus tour, speak with an admissions counselor and to get a feel for campus life. Reservations are necessary for all programs, you can register online, or by calling 315.312.2250 during business hours.

The day includes opportunities to speak with faculty, admissions staff, college offices and current students.  Student-guided campus tours, presentations and an information fair are also included. These events are designed for freshman and transfer applicants (of all majors) who have already applied to Oswego or have already been accepted and would like more information about the college. Please note: if you have already been accepted and paid your admissions deposit these events are not mandatory, and they are not orientation programs where you will register for classes.

Information Programs

Information Programs include a small group presentation by an Admissions Counselor followed by a student-guided campus tour.  During the academic year, programs are offered Monday, Wednesday,Friday at 10:00 a.m. and select Fridays and Saturdays at 1:00 p.m. and usually last about two and a half hours.  

Information Programs for Transfer Students are available on March 13, April 13 and June 5.  These programs are not an Orientation progarm and are not required.  However, they are a great way for students that have applied, been accepted or paid their deposit to learn more about SUNY Oswego as a transfer student.

During the summer, programs are offered Monday-Friday at 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.  The Friday events will also include a complimentary ice cream social with a chance to mingle with faculty and staff.

Oswego offers one Open House program during the spring and summer, as well as three during the fall semester- your best opportunity to get an in-depth overview of SUNY Oswego's offerings. Space is limited, so please be sure to register early! 

  • Open House for High School Juniors- Monday, May 4, 2015. 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

  • This event is designed for high school juniors and sophomores who are just starting their college search.

Registration will begin May 15, 2015 for the following event:

  • Summer Open House- Friday, July 17, 2015. 8:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. and 12:00 - 4:45 p.m.
  • This event is designed for everyone, but is geared towards students just starting their college search.

Registration will begin August 12, 2015 for the following events:

  • Columbus Day Open House- Monday, October 12, 2015. 8:00 a.m. - 1:30p.m.
  • Saturday Open House- October 31, 2015. 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.
  • Veterans Day Open House- Wednesday, November 11, 2015.  8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • These events are designed for everyone.

Overnight Host Program

Sping 2015 overnight visits are now closed

This unique hosting option allows prospective admitted students to enjoy a day and night on campus with a current SUNY Oswego student. The program runs Monday to Thursday on most weeks of the Spring Semester. Please click here for more information. We hope to see you soon!

Individual Appointments

Individual appointments and student-guided tours are offered Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Call 315.312.2250 to arrange an appointment.  A typical appointment will include an individual meeting with an Admissions Counselor and a hour and a half student-guided tour of campus.

Group Visits

Registration for Spring 2015 is now closed.  Please contact the Office of Admission at 315.312.2250 to inquire about summer options.

Group visits are available for school counselors to bring high school and community college students to campus.

Group visits consist of an hour-long information session with an Admissions Counselor, and a hour and a half walking tour of our lakeside campus. Accommodations can be made to eat on campus if needed; meal pricing can be provided upon request.

If you would like to bring a group onto campus please fill out our registration form and we will be in touch with you shortly. Group requests should be made at least two weeks in advance of your visit. Group visits are available on select Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and are reserved for groups with 50 students or less. Please email- with any questions.
