Jeff Gardiner is a SUNY Oswego alum and a 15-year veteran of the video games industry. During his tenure at Bethesda Games Studios, he has shipped 20 titles, including The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 3, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 4.

Warren St. John has written for The New York Times, New York Observer, The New Yorker, Wired and Slate. His first book, Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer: A Journey into the Heart of Fan Mania (2004) was named one of Sports Illustrated‘s best books of the year. His second book, Outcasts United: An American Town, A Refugee Team, and One Woman’s Quest to Make a Difference was published in 2009.

During her time at Nick, Karen has expanded the Writing Program’s efforts worldwide and has helped to launch the careers of many creative and successful visionaries including the creators of Nickelodeon‘s top-rated live action show for kids – Bella and the Bulldogs.

Suzanne Johnson is the creator of an Emmy Award-winning webseries. She is currently a story lead for Pocket Gems’ Episode Interactive mobile gaming app. A former V.P. of Programming and Talent Development for ABC Daytime Television, she also wrote for All My Children and was a story consultant for Nickelodeon International.

Karen Bao began writing her first novel, Dove Arising, at the age of seventeen. Dove Exiled is her second published novel. She graduated in May 2016 from Columbia University.

Jericho Brown is a poet whose poems have appeared in The New Republic, The New Yorker, and The Best American Poetry. His first book, Please (2008) won the American Book Award, and his second book, The New Testament (2014) was named one of the best books of the year by Library Journal, Coldfront and the Academy of American Poets.

Talk by Rick Jacobs, Film & TV Producer and SUNY Oswego Alum

Rick’s work has taken him to London, Paris and Stockholm. As a theatre director and playwright, he has staged productions in London theatres, including the Cole Porter musical HIGH SOCIETY in The West End. Currently Rick works as a film and television producer, with his latest show, Tareq Taylor’s Nordic Cookery airing in 122 countries in North America, Europe, Africa and Australasia.

Talk by Marcus Gardley, Playwright
Marcus Gardley is a multiple award-winning playwright. His new play X, about the assassination of Malcolm X, will tour nationally as part of the Acting Company’s 2017 season. His works include The House That Will Not Stand (2015 Glickman award), The Gospel of Loving Kindness (2014 BTAA best play/playwright), Every Tongue Confess, And Jesus Moonwalks the Mississippi , and On The Levee. Gardley has an MFA from Yale School of Drama.
