Talk by Suzanne Johnson, Interactive Mobile Gaming App Story Lead

Suzanne Johnson is the creator of an Emmy Award-winning webseries. She is currently a story lead for Pocket Gems’ Episode Interactive mobile gaming app. A former V.P. of Programming and Talent Development for ABC Daytime Television, she also wrote for All My Children and was a story consultant for Nickelodeon International.

Karen Bao began writing her first novel, Dove Arising, at the age of seventeen. Dove Exiled is her second published novel. She graduated in May 2016 from Columbia University.

Talk by Jericho Brown, Poet

Jericho Brown is a poet whose poems have appeared in The New Republic, The New Yorker, and The Best American Poetry. His first book Please (2008) won the American Book Award, and his second book, The New Testament (2014) was named one of the best books of the year by Library Journal, Coldfront and the Academy of American Poets.

Rick Jacobs

Talk by Rick Jacobs, Film & TV Producer and SUNY Oswego Alum

Rick’s work has taken him to London, Paris and Stockholm. As a theatre director and playwright, he has staged productions in London theatres, including the Cole Porter musical High Society in the West End. Currently Rick works as a film and television producer, with his latest show, Tareq Taylor’s Nordic Cookery airing in 122 countries in North America, Europe, Africa and Australasia.

Talk by Marcus Gardley, Playwright
Marcus Gardley is a multiple award-winning playwright. His new play X, about the assassination of Malcolm X, will tour nationally as part of the Acting Company’s 2017 season. His works include The House That Will Not Stand (2015 Glickman award), The Gospel of Loving Kindness (2014 BTAA best play/playwright), Every Tongue Confess, And Jesus Moonwalks the Mississippi, and On The Levee. Gardley has an MFA from Yale School of Drama.
