Chris Held, Persian Pallet

Chris Held is an artist/designer and the co-owner of Von Tundra, an American design studio. He received an MFA in sculpture from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and a BFA from the Oregon College of Art and Craft in Portland. His work rides the boundary between clean, minimal design and the hand made object. Von Tundra has created large-scale installations at High Desert Test Sites in Joshua Tree, California. Held’s work has been written about in magazines including Dwell, Surface, Art Papers and Portland Spaces as well as included on blogs: Designboom, DesignMilk and Dezeen.

Carl Whidden who will perform a one-man performance of the Charles Dickens classic “A Christmas Carol”

Actor Carl Whidden returns to reprise the role of Scrooge that he played as an Oswego State student. This time, he plays all the other roles as well! A 40th Anniversary celebration of that holiday production by local legend and faculty emerita Rosemary Nesbitt.

SUNY Oswego’s art department raises the curtain on the exhibition “Painterly Prints”. Each student in faculty member Mary Pierce’s “Introduction to Printmaking” class exhibits one monotype or monoprint piece.

Ceramic students of Roxanne Jackson and painting students of Christopher McEvoy were given a project entitled GO BIG! go little. The project asked students to challenge themselves to think outside of the box, take risks, try something new and incorporate mixed media. Contrast in scale, concept and the inherent differences in the two mediums feature prominently in the exhibition.
