Baroque pieces have been used in many different settings since their inception, from grandiose Romantic renditions to contemporary rock versions. New York City’s award-winning multidisciplinary performance company, Third Rail Projects, creates Anthem, a new site-specific dance/theater work for Fort Ontario. Drawing upon the fort’s architecture and history, Anthem is a haunting rumination on invasion, surrender, desire and defense. It blurs the boundaries of national, geographic and personal identities by posing the question “Who exactly is protecting whom and from what”
