International Sculpture Day @ Sundial area, between Penfield Library and Hewitt Union

International Sculpture Day offers hands-on opportunities in origami, marble carving, puppet-making, yarn bombing, plaster molds, press molds, and on-site construction of a wooden horse head inspired by Donatello’s 15th century bronze sculpture.
Del Sarte dance group will perform at 3 and 4 p.m. Refreshments available.

SUNY Wide Film Festival Keynote Speaker Andrew Miano & Film Screening @ Room 132, Marano Campus Center Auditorium

Producer Andrew Miano will deliver the keynote address for the 2015 SUNY Wide Film Festival. There will be a reception prior to his speech and all students who submit a film are invited to attend. Registration is $10. The film screening is free and open to the public depending on capacity.

The SUNY Wide Film Festival (SWFF) was launched in 2009 as an opportunity to showcase the cinematic work of student and faculty from throughout the SUNY system. From the traditional Hollywood narrative to animation, experimental film and video to documentary work, SUNY students and faculty are creating entertaining, thought-provoking and challenging film and video work.

Exoplanets

First discovered 20 years ago, the known Exoplanets (planets around other stars) now total over 1800. Dr. Scott Roby of SUNY Oswego’s physics department will show the different types of planetary systems that exist and give updates on the Kepler mission and the search for twins of Earth.
