Baseball Drops Season-Opening Doubleheader To South Carolina-Beaufort
The Oswego State baseball team lost a pair of games to NAIA South Carolina-Beaufort by the scores of 8-6 and 5-0 on Sunday afternoon in Hardeeville, S.C. The Lakers, who moved to 0-2 overall, faced a Sand Shark squad that was competing in its 23rd and 24th game of the season to improve to 17-7. Oswego State will continue its Southern spring break trip on Tuesday against NCAA Division II institution-Claflin with a single nine-inning at 3 p.m.
In game one of the doubleheader, USCB grabbed a quick 2-0 lead after the second inning before the Lakers responded with five runs in the top of the third. Oswego State accounted for their five runs on five hits, two hit batters and a base on balls. The Sand Sharks tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning after the lead-off hitter was hit by a pitch. The next two batters singled and walked to load the bases before Zach Rossetti delivered a bases-clearing double to tie the game.

Baseball Season Opener Versus Shepherd Rained Out
The Oswego State baseball team will have to wait two more days before starting the 2010 season as its season opener against Division II Shepherd University was canceled due to rain on Friday. The game will not be rescheduled. The Lakers will face South Carolina-Beaufort on Sunday, March 14 at 12 p.m.

Levy and Tallini Honored At Baseball Alumni Weekend Mike Levy (Sr., Salisbury Mills, N.Y.) and Garrit Tallini were recognized at the Oswego State Baseball Alumni Weekend held this past Friday and Saturday.
Levy, a captain for the upcoming 2010 season, received the Arwin Hamm Award, as he was a First Team All-SUNYAC selection at shortstop and was the SUNYAC Chancellor’s Baseball Award winner after posting a 3.80 cumulative grade point average.

Baseball Alumni Weekend Planned For Sep. 18-19
The Oswego State baseball program will be hosting an alumni weekend open to all former players on Friday, September 18-Saturday, September 19 in Oswego.
The annual alumni awards ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 19 at the Oswego State Baseball Field. A baseball game and golf tournament will be held following the presentation. Mike Levy named SUNYAC Chancellor's Scholar-Athlete Award winner
Junior infielder Michael Levy, Jr. of the Oswego State baseball team has been honored as a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Spring Chancellor’s Scholar-Athlete Award winner for the 2008-09 academic year. The award is given annually in each sport to a first or second team All-Conference team member with the highest grade-point average and has completed three or more semesters.
