Hunsinger promoted to Interim Head Coach

Oswego State promoted Andrew Hunsinger to interim head coach for the Oswego State cross country teams for the 2008-09 seasons. Hunsinger previously served as assistant coach for the teams in the 2007-08 seasons.

The Oswego State cross country teams delivered a pair of top finishes at the Nazareth College Invitational. The Laker women registered its second runner-up performance of the season in the eight-team 4,000-meter race, while the Oswego men placed fourth in the eight-team 6,000-meter competition.

The Oswego State Cross Country team traveled to the New York Southern-tier to compete in its third meet of the season at the Houghton College Invitational.  The women put together what probably may be a school-record setting effort in posting a runner-up finish in the seven-team 5,000-meter race, while the men ran their first 8,000-meter race of the season, finishing sixth among eight teams.

Oswego State’s men’s cross country team has been named as a winner of the 2007 NCAA Division III USTFCCCA Men’s All-Academic Cross Country Team Award by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Oswego State cross country teams participated in the NCAA Regionals at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx on Saturday morning. The Laker women finished 22nd out of 37 teams and the Oswego State men were 21st out of 39.

The Oswego State cross country teams participated in the New York State Collegiate Track Conference Championships in Saratoga Springs on Saturday afternoon. Oswego State’s men’s team finished 12th in a field of 15 teams and the Laker women were 13th out of 16 teams.
