INTERIM HEAD COACH ANDREW HUNSINGER
Andrew Hunsinger has been named interim head coach for cross country and track and field at Oswego State for the 2008-09 seasons. He served as assistant coach for those programs at Oswego State in the 2007-08 seasons. Hunsinger is a 2007 graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh where he was a captain of the track and field teams and holds two school records. He earned a bachelor's degree in sociology and minored in coaching of track and field.
During the 2007-08 campaign Hunsinger worked with the sprinters, jumpers, and hurdlers and coached over 50 SUNYAC event qualifiers, 12 ECAC event qualifiers, and six ECAC relay qualifiers during the indoor and outdoor seasons. He personally coached outdoor SUNYAC champion and NCAA provisional qualifier Megan Boggan in the 400 meter hurdles and indoor and outdoor NCAA provisional qualifier Ray Richardson in the triple jump. Hunsinger helped the Lakers achieve 10 new school records during the year that included three new relay records. All 21 student athletes Hunsinger worked with last year set new personal bests in at least one of their respective events.
Hunsinger is Level I certified by the USATF, and interned as a track and field coach at Seton Catholic High School in Plattsburgh.
Hunsinger, a sprinter, left Plattsburgh as a school-record holder in the 400-meter relay and 800-meter relay and earned All-SUNYAC and All-ECAC recognition several times. Prior to enrolling at Plattsburgh he attended SUNY New Paltz where he was a SUNYAC champion in the 100-meter dash in 2003 and held six school records.
