Head Coach Andrew Hunsinger
Andrew Hunsinger enters his second season as the head coach for cross country and track and field at Oswego State after stepping into the position in the 2008 season.
Hunsinger is a 2007 graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh, where he was captain of the indoor and outdoor track and field teams, holding a pair of school records. He earned his bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in coaching of track and field.
During the 2007-08 indoor and outdoor seasons, Hunsinger worked with the sprinters, jumpers and hurdlers and coached over 50 SUNYAC event qualifiers, 12 ECAC event qualifiers and six ECAC relays qualifiers. He personally coached outdoor SUNYAC champion and NCAA provisional qualifier Megan Boggan in the 400m hurdles and indoor and outdoor NCAA provisional qualifier Ray Richardson in the triple jump. Hunsinger also helped the Lakers achieve ten new school records, including three new relay records. All 21 student-athletes Hunsinger worked with throughout the season set new personal bests in at least one of their respective events.
Hunsinger is Level I certified by USA Track & Field (USATF) and served as an intern coaching track & field at Seton Catholic High School in Plattsburgh.
Hunsinger left Plattsburgh as the school-record holder in the 400-meter, and 800-meter relays and earned All-SUNYAC and All-ECAC recognition several times. Prior to Plattsburgh, he attended SUNY New Paltz, where he was a SUNYAC champion in the 100-meter dash and held six school records before the program was discontinued.
