Aids Community Resources, Inc. Community Resources' mission is to: Prevent the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, to provide support services to those who are living with HIV/AIDS, and to promote sexual literacy and healthy decision making.

We offer educational programs and street outreach to youth and targeted high-risk populations for HIV and STDs prevention and awareness. We also offer support to those already infected/affected by HIV/AIDS through Case Management.
American Red Cross The American Red Cross is a human service agency providing services to disaster victims, preparedness information, health and safety training as well as providing nearly half of the nation s blood supply. Volunteer and internship opportunities exist in human development, public relations, special events and marketing, general office support and health and safety training.
ARC of Onondaga County ARC of Onondaga assists thousands of people with developmental disabilities to achieve their fullest potential. ARC employes over 500 people at our 37 area locations and is the largest provider of these services in Onondaga County.

ARC has opportunities in a variety of career fields including medical, social services educational, direct care, vocational, administrative and professional. Our diverse array of services and programs mean a wide selection of different jobs and incentives to advance.
ARISE ARISE Child and Family Services,Inc. is a Center for Independent Living, providing services for individuals who have disabilities. ARISE promotes the social, economic, educational, and individual interests of people with disabilities. We are guided by the philosophy that individuals with disabilities have a right to dignity, personal responsibility, and self determination. Our programs and services include; Advocacy, Employment, Recreation, and Independent Living Services.
Assisted Learning Center The Assisted Learning Center helps students become better learners and also become more successful in their academic courses.
Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES We are a Career and Technical Center. Our staff is comprised of Vocational Teachers from 15 different disciplines. In addition, our staff includes School Counselors, an Internship Coordinator as well as Math, Social Studies, English and Physical Education Teachers. There is teacher assistant and aide support in most of our programs.
Child Care Council Oswego County Child Care Council is an agency located in the downtown area in Oswego, New York.

Our agnecy is funded through many state and federal contracts with specific deadlines and milestones for all programs within the agency.

Our agency provides many services to the community. We provide parents with information regarding child care services in Oswego County. We register family day care homes and school age programs through a contract with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
We assist legal exempt providers through a contract with the Oswego County Department of Social Services. We operate the child care food program through a contract with the New York State Department of Health, Division of Nutrition, through which they are reimbursed for meals provided to the children.
We have an on site health care consultant who assists providers with health care plans and health issues.
We have a traffic & safety coordinator. We install car seats and provide training regarding safety issues.
We provide intensive training to child care providers. We are interested in interns and volunteers to assist us with all aspects of the agency.

Intern and Volunteer Positions:
Excellent communication and organizational skills are required
Computer and data entry experience are required
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel programs desirable

COCOAA, Inc. The Council on Alcoholism & Addictions provides individualized evaluation & treatment services at our outpatient chemical dependency program. Confidentiality and caring are the cornerstones of all services we provide.
Eastern Farm Workers Assoc. Eastern Farm Workers Association (EFWA) is an all volunteer run, non-government funded membership association of migrant and seasonal farm workers and other low-paid workers. The goal of the association is to unite all low wage workers to fight for better living and working conditions. EFWA volunteers participate in a variety of grass-roots organizing work to reach low paid workers such as Operation Camp Crew visits to the migrant camps and door-to-door membership canvasses in low-income neighborhoods. The association also offers an 11-Point Benefit program to assist EFWA members in surviving while we fight for permanent solutions to poverty conditions. Volunteers are also needed to help with distributions of food and clothing, preventive medical care sessions, non-emergency dental care sessions, legal advice sessions and more. No experience necessary. You just need to care and want to learn to work with the low income community to make change from the bottom up. F!

Friends of History The Friends of History in Fulton, NY manage The John Wells Pratt House Museum, an Italianate style home built in 1861 which contains exhibits on local history. Opportunities available are collections volunteers, 1st person interpretation volunteers, Tour Guides, Research and Curation volunteer/internship.
Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways Girl Scouts is the premiere leadership development program for girls. Through a variety of activities, we are creating girls of Courage, Confidence and Character who will make the world a better place. We are continually looking for volunteers to assist with troop leadership or one time events.
Literacy Volunteers of Oswego Co. Community-based non-profit that uses volunteers to tutor adults one-on-one in reading, math, and computer skills. Assistance is needed with public relations, fundraising events, grant writing, organizational development, and program development.
National Kidney Foundation of CNY The Mission of the National Kidney Foundation of Central NY is to prevent kidney and urinary tract diseases, improve the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases and increase the availability of all organs for transplantation.

New York State D.E.C. Police New York State Environmental Conservation Officers are sworn police officers under state law with full powers to enforce all laws. Their focus however, is on enforcement of the Environmental Conservation Law. This includes environmental quality laws as well as the fish and game laws of New York State.
New York State University Police The New York State University Police Department is a professional, full service police organization. Our duties are to protect the safety and well being of the SUNY Oswego campus community and enforce all New York State laws. Our department includes units to supplement standard patrols.
North Area Family YMCA The Mission of the YMCA is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. We are currently offering volunteer opportunities in all departments, including our education department.
OCO - Youth Services OCO Youth Services works with youth under age 21 through a variety of programs. We have programs for runaway and homeless youth, pregnant and parenting youth, and youth in foster care. We have afterschool programs, a school based mentoring program in Fulton, and a job skills program. We will be recruiting mentors, host homes, and volunteer/interns.
Oswego AmeriCorps Program Americorps members serve at schools, human service agencies, libraries and recreation programs throughout Oswego County working with children and families. Members receive a living allowance and education award for participating in this national service program. Recruiting for current Americorps positions.
Oswego County Opportunities Oswego County Opportunities Migrant /Seasonal Farm worker Program provides access to health care in a caring, culturally sensitive manner. We provide assistance with health care, dental care, domestic violence, in camp health education training's. We provide advocacy/assistance for legal services, schools, DSS, translation of paperwork such as: birth certificate, immunization records, marriage license etc. We are seeking volunteers and interns to help fill these voids. Some of the simplest things we take for granted, to someone from another country, who does not speak the language, this may feel like a mountain.
Opportunities exists for bilingual (Spanish) persons to help with appointments, translate paper work, help run training's, transportation, especially during May-October.

Oswego SD Public Library The Oswego Public Library has served the needs of the residents of the City of Oswego for over 150 years. There are many opportunities for volunteers: assisting the Children s Coordinator with story hours and craft projects, reshelving items in their proper order, organizing books, tapes, CD s and magazines, assisting patrons with using computers and the online card catalogue. These are just a few of the jobs that need to be done by volunteers.
Person To Person: Citizen Advocacy Person to Person is a not-for-profit organization that serves individuals with developmental disabilities who are at risk of social isolation. We are currently recruiting voluntary, unpaid advocates/mentors who are willing to enter into a one-to-one relationship with a person with a disability. How the relationship develops, how often they see each other and what they do, is determined by the two people involved in the relationship. Citizen advocacy offers the volunteer the opportunity to become personally and directly involved as a friend, mentor, ally or advisor.
SAF - Services to Aid Families Services to Aid Families is a division of Oswego County Opportunities Inc. and is the Licensed Domestic Violence and Certified Rape Crisis Program for Oswego County. SAF's goal is to assist and empower victims of physical, sexual and/or emotional violence as well as to mobilize a coordinated community-wide response to those issues. SAF has a variety of volunteering and internship opportunities available, based on the individual's interest and available training.
Step by Step Clubhouse Step by Step Clubhouse is a community mental health program for adults recovering from mental illnesses. The clubhouse program gives members the opportunity for meaningful work & meaningful relationships through participation in a work order day, and social activities. Members volunteer in work units within the clubhouse to complete tasks that are needed to run the program. The Club also has an employment program to assist members who have a goal of working in the community. This is a unique opportunity for an internship, and an experience you will not soon forget.
Sunrise Res. & Health Rehab Center The Volunteer Services Program at Sunrise Residential Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is designed to enhance the quality of life for the residents at the home. There are many ways in which you can volunteer your time and talents. Our volunteers find their work to be rewarding and satisfying because it involves helping others. Some volunteer opportunities include: activity assistant, coffee host/hostess, pet therapy, entertainer, friend, transport assistant, providing assistance on outings, or you can volunteer with a group and assist maintenance staff in painting, grounds work, cleaning etc... Other positions may also be available.
SUNY Ctr for Serv. Learning & Comm. Serv. Community Services works with five Student Association volunteer organizations including Mentor Oswego (MO), Adopt-A-Grandparent (AGP), Special Olympics (SO), Red Cross Club, and Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter. All of these groups provide service to the Oswego community, with MO, AGP, and SO coordinating a number of opportunities each week of the semester. Red Cross Club and Habitat for Humanity work closely with the local chapters of their organizations as well. We are always looking for new students to get involved with our organization and the Oswego community.
United Way Walk a Thon Eighteenth annual United Way 5k Walk-A-Thon will be held Saturday, October 17th. Registration begins at 12:00 pm outside Lanigan Hall. The cost is $5.00 per person and all proceeds benefit the United Way.
