Residence Halls
Where to Live on Campus

The 12 residence halls open on campus accommodate a total of nearly 3,880 students, and are staffed with live-in professional and student staff. The reopening of Hart Hall in Fall 1998 after an $8 million dollar renovation was an exciting opportunity for students to enter a living and learning environment with faculty-student interaction. The re-opening of Johnson Hall in 2003 after an elegant $14 million renovation represents another exciting option on the campus and is aimed at providing programs and services to maximize the academic, social and personal success of first-year students. Riggs Hall reopened in fall 2007 after extensive renovations.

Our beautiful 700-acre campus also provides many other residence halls that offer different living options, including single rooms, doubles and suites, special-interest floors, and nonsmoking buildings, rooms and roommates. Each residence hall room is typically designed for two students and furnished with a bed, mattress, bureau, study desk, chair, floor lamp and closet for each resident. While this setup is rather standard, by the start of classes your room will begin to show its own personality. There are some basic necessities which everyone should consider and some accessory choices that you will want to make. Coordinating the furnishings and arrangements of your room is a good opportunity to become better acquainted with your new roommate.

Feel free to explore online the different residence options at Oswego State. Pages for our four residential neighborhoods -- Lakeside, Mackin, New or East -- include a description about the facility and room specifications.
