The College Book Store is the place to purchase and sell back your semester textbooks. Nobody is more aware of students' and parents' concerns of the cost of textbooks than The College Book Store.
This is how we save you money on textbooks:
- Largest selection of used textbooks-We strive to buyback as many textbooks from our students to fulfill textbook quotas for the upcoming semester. We also have the resources to get books from all over the country to ensure our shelves are stocked full of used textbooks whenever possible.
- Competitive pricing on used textbooks
- All new textbooks are always discounted 10%
- Add textbooks to your tuition bill through the Flex Plan-If you have excess financial aid, you may shift that into your Flex Plan through MyOswego. Flex Plan balances continually roll to the next semester, or, if you like, you may request that your balance be refunded at the end of the semester.
- Prepack-Through textbook prepack, you will have first access to used textbooks, thus saving you money! The Prepack service is at no additional charge!
- Buyback-Receive up to 50% of what you paid for the textbook at our end of the semester textbook buyback.
- Buyback Bucks-Simply sell back your textbooks and you will receive a store coupon for 10% of the Buyback cash you receive for your textbooks
If you take the cost of the textbook in the beginning of the semester and apply the services and resources that The College Book Store strive to provide (used textbooks, Prepack, Buyback, and Buyback Bucks), you will find that The College Book Store provides the lowest net cost of your textbooks.
$350.61 was the average cost of textbooks for the Fall 2008 semester based on full-time SUNY Oswego students who Prepacked. Our average textbook cost is considerably lower than the national average. By signing up for Prepack, the College Book Store staff will pack your upcoming semester's textbooks. Prepack is FREE with no hidden costs! By prepacking your textbooks, you will also have first access to used textbooks before we open our book aisles to non-Prepack customers (saving you money!).
On-campus/off-campus delivery available, talk about convenience! The College Book Store will deliver your Prepack textbooks directly to your residence hall front desk before you arrive back from summer/winter break. We also ship to any off-campus residence saving you gas and time! *Shipping charges do apply*
You may add the cost of your textbooks to your tuition bill through The College Book Store Flex Plan. Prepack customers also earn "Buyback Bucks" during the end of the semester textbook buyback (more on that below). The deadline has passed for Spring 2010 Prepack orders. Sorry for the inconvenience. Although you may sell your textbooks back to The College Book Store any day, the best time to get the most value for textbooks is at our end of the semester buyback. This occurs on the Thursday of the final week of classes and continues until the last day of finals. Did you know that selling back your books to The College Book Store not only saves you money, but it also helps other students? Being able to provide more used textbooks (our number one objective) helps lower textbooks costs for others the following semester. We would rather buyback textbooks from our students than use book supply dealers.
Our number one goal is to purchase your textbooks for 50% of the price you paid for them at the beginning of the semester. Thus, if you paid $70 for a textbook, you could receive up to $35 at the end of the semester.
 Buyback Bucks
To put more cash in our customers' pockets at Buyback and to make more used books available for the next semester, we also offer an added incentive for our Prepack customers. At the end of the semester textbook buyback, our Prepack customers earn Buyback Bucks. Simply sell back your textbooks and you will receive a store coupon for 10% of the Buyback cash you receive for your textbooks. Thus, if you sell back $100 in textbooks then you will receive a $10 store coupon in addition to the $100 cash! The coupon does not expire until the following semester, meaning you can use it towards your next semester's textbooks, computer and school supplies, or SUNY Oswego merchandise!

We will add a standard $8.50 shipping fee. All orders must be placed before 9:30am to ensure they will be sent out that day. Orders placed after 9:30am, will be shipping to you the next business day. We accept all major credit cards as well as your College Store Flex Plan.
