Oswego was established as a permanent settlement in 1722, mainly to facilitate trade with the Native Americans. The city of Oswego has developed an outstanding public access to the Oswego River. This trail has great views of the river and is an ideal place to exercise. It is a well cared for and has wide walkways, making it a great spot for a stroll. You can enjoy the scenery of large ships and boats, while also observing nature.

Location:

East River walk- The trail follows the east side of the Oswego River and is best accessible from E. 1st St - Quality Inn Parking lot.

West River walk- - The trail follows the west side of the Oswego River, and is accessible from multiple downtown locations. The walkway runs from behind the post office to just past were the Colman's Irish Pub had been located, Franklin Square is near by.Cannal Commons Parking lot is best accessible off of Bridge st. & West 1 st.


Features:

A concrete walkway and railings located on both sides of the river to provide convenient access for walkers and fisherman with riverside parking, restrooms and a fish cleaning station. This trail has great views of the river and is an ideal place to exercise. It is a well cared for and has wide walkways, making it a great spot for a stroll. You can enjoy the scenery of large ships and boats, while also observing nature.
