SUNY Oswego officials have reported that Natalie A. Smith, a VISTA member assigned to SUNY Oswego and reported missing since June 9, was located by New York State Police investigators Friday evening, June 16, in Brooklyn.
Smith is well and, upon interviewing with state police investigators at the 72nd Precinct, has indicated her wishes to remain in Brooklyn.
“We are relieved to hear that Natalie is safe …,” said SUNY Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley, “… and are extremely thankful and appreciative of our law enforcement partners, particularly the New York State Police, for their expertise and dedication throughout the case.”
The exhaustive investigation, which commenced last week, involved University Police, the New York State Police, New York City Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and the Canajoharie Police Department.
