SUNY Oswego's online MBA ranks highest in New York state and 33rd nationally among online master of business administration programs, according to rankings published Jan. 9 by U.S. News & World Report's 2018 "Best Online Degree Programs: MBA."
SUNY Oswego was the only public college in New York to crack the list's top 100 online graduate business programs, and leads all colleges and universities in New York on the list. Clarkson, Hofstra, RIT, Syracuse and Marist also appear.
"The U.S. News & World Report ranking is an affirmation of the quality of our online MBA program," said SUNY Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley. "It reflects the expertise of our faculty, the individualized student support services provided, the quality of our MBA students, the strength of the college's instructional design team, and our commitment to and investment in online learning."
Oswego's online MBA program and the college's various MBA degree options are all accredited by the AACSB (Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business). Irene Scruton, Oswego's MBA director, said, “The School of Business strives for and continues to exceed or meet benchmarks for the 'most comprehensive ranking in the industry.'"
"We value the U.S. News ranking and its attention to a host of criteria in five categories: student engagement, student services and technology, administrative criteria, faculty credentials and peer review," Scruton said.
"One of the more significant differentiators of Oswego's online MBA is that our students have access to full-time, tenured, tenure-track faculty, who are teaching online courses, engaging with and mentoring students," added President Stanley.
Many online MBA students are working professionals looking to advance their careers, contributing to the program's growth of 113 percent in the past five years. SUNY Oswego's online MBA program runs year-round, including offerings in winter and summer, enabling accelerated degree completion.

About Oswego's MBA
Oswego – the first comprehensive college in the SUNY system to offer an MBA degree, starting in 1997 – has increased the options students have for specializing within their graduate business studies, offering MBA programs in health services administration, management and public accounting. The college also offers a variety of graduate programs and five-year options that combine an MBA with such bachelor's degrees as broadcasting, psychology and public accounting.
MBA delivery options include classroom-based in Oswego and/or at SUNY Oswego in Syracuse or blended classroom-online programs, as well as the online MBA.
The college's dedication to working with business partners bore fruit with a custom program in partnership with SRC that culminated in 21 of its employees earning an MBA in a ceremony last June.
Oswego also appeared at #5 nationally in April 2017 on a U.S. News Short List for top MBA programs enrolling the highest percentage of women.
