4. Open Session - Q & A
- Dave S. - Are there time limits for the sandbox accounts? Theresa, they should be available within the next few days and we will put out an announcement and will let you know what is available to you and we will be assisting as needed. Support team will be different from what we currently have.
- Sean, everyone has a lot of questions and there's a lot of uncertainty around it. We will work to make this topic a regular part of every CTAB meeting.
- Theresa, question from chat. Will it be available for everyone to participate? Yes, it looks like everyone will have the opportunity to join.
5. Committee Reports
- ITC Report (Theresa)
- Meeting Nov. 23rd at 10am. Hopefully we will be able to formulate a draft for Regular and Substantive policy.
- TIP Grants 2021-2022 Update
- Submission has closed. Received five grant submissions. Some requests are not necessarily technology grants. We may have another call in the spring. We may change the criteria to open it up to other campus priorities. As we come out of COVID we will reevaluate the criteria.
- CTS Report
- Digital Learning Environment Update
- A lot of work going into this. We have more answers than we had a month ago. We will still have control of many aspects of the system. Sounds like we will be able to have our own templates but will be modeled after what SUNY has. All SUNY schools will be using the same applications where applicable, but we are already using their applications. Third component that we were concerned about is whether we will be able to augment our environment with add-on programs, and at this point it appears we will be able to utilize the add-ons that we currently have.
- Oswego Print Initiative Update
- Nicole - We have been plugging away, this folds into the SUNY-wide print initiative. Security and secure print. Saving on print jobs and environmentally conscious. Individual printers being consolidated and using one printer. We have collected about 40 printers, many were very old and we recycled them. We are continuing to work with departments and consolidation. As we work with departments, we are turning on secure print (this holds the print job in the queue until you go to the printer and release it). There has been an issue with the print queue jamming and we have done a lot of testing to resolve it. The file type that has been giving problems is images and paint. It is isolated to konica minolta machines. Does not happen with HP. Student print quotas were reduced to 200 pages. We will be doing a report and will look into the data and the effects of the change in the number of pages the campus is printing..
- Leigh - Is there stats on departmental printing? Nicole - We will be contacting Pharos, as they have been developing stats and reports, We will be contacting them and asking for a new report containing this type of information. Hopefully we will report on this at a later date.
