Important Public Safety Information

• For safety reasons, parking on campus roadways is prohibited. Please park in the identified designated park lots list below.
• All minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
• No unauthorized use of personal drones. Please contact [email protected] with any questions.
• No camping, tailgating or overnight parking allowed on campus grounds.
• We are a smoke free campus.
• Alcohol is prohibited on campus grounds.

Parking

For guests visiting campus, parking is available in the lots listed below. View our interactive campus map by selecting a lot, or print our campus map (PDF) to help locate the designated lots and buildings on campus. Guest parking will be indicated with appropriate signage. Parking on grass in any area of campus is not permitted and could result in a ticket and/or fine. 

• C32 - Visitor & Bus Parking, south of Culkin Hall
• E1 - Visitor Parking, north of Penfield/Lanigan
• EC7 - Visitor & Bus Parking, north of Romney Field House
• EC15 - Visitor Parking, south of Sheldon Hall
• C8, East and West - Visitor Parking by permit only, south of Shineman

Restrooms

Academic buildings will be open and visitors will be able to access the restrooms. Residence Halls are not open or accessible to guests visiting campus.

Protect Your Eyes

When observing a solar eclipse, it's vital to protect your eyes with proper eyewear, such as eclipse glasses certified by the ISO 12312-2 standard, or a special solar filter. Regular sunglasses won't provide adequate protection, risking serious eye damage or blindness. Additionally, protect your skin from prolonged sun exposure by using sunscreen, wearing a hat, and dressing in protective clothing.

SUNY Oswego is giving away free eclipse glasses to students, faculty, and staff, one pair each, starting Monday, March 18th at the Marano Center Box Office, from 10am to 4:30pm, weekdays until stocks last. Additional pairs for Oswego personnel or the public are available for $2.00 each. Ensure glasses are ISO 12312-2 certified for proper eye protection, as regular sunglasses are inadequate.

Photography

When photographing a solar eclipse, protect your eyes by using a camera with a special solar filter. Remove the filter only during totality to capture the Sun's corona. Secure your camera on a tripod for stability and use a delayed shutter to minimize shake. Capture the changing environment, including eerie shadows and natural pinholes made by light filtering through leaves, as well as the reactions of those around you.
