Fulbright awarded to art professor 'pushing boundaries' in contemporary drawing

SUNY Oswego art professor Juan Perdiguero will spend four months in Chile next spring as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar, teaching and doing research on techniques and processes in drawing that cut across traditional, single-discipline boundaries.

SUNY Oswego teacher candidate Ashley Kirkland wanted to attend the recent presentation in Albany for the prestigious Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher Scholarship, but she was keeping her commitment to help other Brooklyn girls -- homeless, in temporary housing -- who are trying against all odds to succeed in school, just as Kirkland had.
