The Office of Research and Creative Activities (ORCA) and the Financial Aid Office support up to 12 $2,000 undergraduate and graduate student research assistantships (URAs) through the Federal Work-Study (FWS) program.

The assistantships are for students interested in research and faculty who need support with their research for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Students can earn up to $2,000 (~133 hours) and can start their hours in the fall or spring semester.

If interested, students and faculty should find each other to work with. Students can speak with their professor after class or send them an email. Faculty, you might find qualified students from your classes. Next, determine if the student is eligible for FWS (reach out to the ORCA director). If eligible, submit an application.

The deadline to apply is Sept. 17.

For more information, please see the ORCA website or email the interim ORCA director, Kristin Lee Sotak, at orca@oswego.edu

There are several assistantships still available, so applications are encouraged.
