The production team offers the following tips on what to prepare for:

  • Dance: Be prepared for a short combination. Wear appropriate dance attire (fitness clothing). Warm up ahead of time. Be prepared to dance barefoot.
  • Monologue: One minute, contemporary monologue. Should fit the time period and mood of the character you are interested in playing. Must be memorized.
  • Song: Come prepared with 16 to 32 bars that shows off vocal range. Beginning and end must be marked clearly in the music. Must bring a copy of the song for the accompanist, but also must not sing a song from the show.
  • For acting and singing auditions: Dress professionally, in business casual.

The '80s-themed adaptation of the hit Adam Sandler movie has lyrics by Chad Beguelin with the book by Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy.
