Alumna and longtime SUNY Oswego leader Cathy Santos will serve as Latino Student Union keynote speaker, with a virtual talk at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16.

Earning her bachelor's and master's degrees (in 1987 and 1999, respectively) Santos is a retired Boruica higher education professional who currently directs library services as part of a committee for Oswego County.

As the former associate provost of multicultural affairs and the director of the Educational Opportunity Program at Oswego, Santos dedicated her professional life to the advancement of social justice for communities of color and those experiencing marginalization in the U.S. The virtual event will feature Santos and LSU members discussing the history on diversity at Oswego.
