The State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) will promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Pink the Rink and Pink Day, both supporting Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) Cancer Services.

The annual Pink the Rink women’s hockey game will see the Lakers host the London Devilettes from Ontario at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15. SEFA will sell chances on prize baskets for $1 each or $5 for six outside the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall in Marano Campus Center.

On Oct. 20, for Pink Day, faculty and staff support the cause by donating $5 to wear jeans and pink outfits. That donation and general donations can be made via the secure CashNet storefront.

Pink Day activities will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, in the Marano Campus Center food and activities court. The event will feature tabling with pink giveaways and information about services and resources available from OCO.

Other activities during this event will include:

  • Opportunities to take a chance on a prize basket
  • New SUNY Oswego pink ribbon winter beanie hats for sale for $15 each available for presale online (on first-come, first-served basis)
  • Auxiliary Services will provide a complementary brownie or cookie to anyone wearing pink who purchases an item at Palates, Cutting Board, Laker Express or Crossroads
  • At 12:30 p.m., a group pink photo in the Marano food and activities court followed by a walk through in the quad
