Seats are still available for the Winter Session and Spring 2023 semester in the GST 101: "Professional Skills Preparatory" course. Through GST 101, students will examine, define and equip themselves with the critical skills and workplace competencies that employers look for in successful candidates for employment. GST 303: "Leadership in Your Field" has seats available for the Winter Session and Spring 2023 semester. This course provides exploratory field experiences for students and begins to align personal and professional values with career goals while completing a project that fits a need with the selected not-for-profit organization. Focus Forward is continuing to accept applications for Spring 2023 mentors. Focus Forward is a school-based mentoring program that strives to enrich the lives of middle and high school students in the community. Through GST 311: "Mentoring Skills and Practice" (one credit) students will focus on training in student development, age-appropriate practices and cultural competency. During GST 312: "Leadership in Mentoring" (two credits), students will focus upon leadership within mentoring programs and its impact on youth development through the lens of the duties/responsibilities of being a team leader.
