The university’s Civic Discourse Series – designed to provide dialogue around current issues – will feature discussion on media and information literature on Sept. 4 and on the legacy of 9/11 on Sept. 11.

“Civic Discourse: Media and Information Literacy” will take place at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, in 114 Marano Campus Center. The conversation will feature faculty panelists Craig DeLancey (Philosophy), Ulises Mejias (Communication Studies), Michael Riecke (Communication Studies), Emily Mitchell (Penfield Library) and Amy Shore (Cinema and Screen Studies). Those unable to attend in person can watch via Zoom.

“A Discussion about 9/11,” taking place at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, in 114 Marano Campus Center, will feature panelists student panelist Ellen Argueta with faculty members Frank Byrne (History), Lisa Glidden (Politics), Allison Rank (Politics), Ritu Radhakrishnan (Curriculum and Instruction), Murat Yasar (History). In addition, those unable to make the discussion in person can view it on Zoom.

More events will be announced as topics, speakers and details are confirmed.

The events underscore the university’s commitment to civil discourse and civic engagement, promoting the exchange of ideas and search for the truth.
