The inaugural Flags of Meaning exploration event will discuss the Pride Flag at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, in 114 Marano Campus Center (next to the Hearth Lounge).

Organizers described the event as "the first in a series to explore flags and banners, what they tell the world about us, what they tell us about ourselves, and how they inspire, unite or divide us."

The program will feature a panel discussion with professors Cynthia Claybough (she/her/hers or they/them) from art and design and Josh Plecncer (he/him/his) of political science with student leaders Cambria Gordon (she/her/hers) and Joshua Payne (he/him/his) plus student moderators Kaushal Joshi (he/him/his) and Kae Jimenez Alamo (she/her/hers).

The free event is sponsored by Student Affairs, Title IX, the Triandiflou Institute, Oswego Pride Alliance and SUNY Oswego's Student Association.
