The university’s Civic Discourse Series –- designed to provide dialogue around current issues –- will continue with four more Wednesday sessions: Oct. 2 on individual rights, Oct. 16 on immigration, Oct. 30 on a healthy democracy and elections, and Nov. 13 on the economy.

All events will take place in room 114 of Marano Campus Center. Those unable to attend in person can watch via Zoom.

"Civic Discourse: Individual Rights" will begin at 4 p.m. on Oct. 2 and feature panelists Celinet Durant (Criminal Justice), Josh Plencher (Politics), Cynthia Clabough (Art and Design) and Jason Zenor (Communication Studies). (Zoom link)

"Civic Discourse: Immigration" at 4 p.m. on Oct. 16 will feature Emily Estrada (Sociology/History), Lyn Blanchfield (History), Paul Babiarz (Business) and Shashi Kanbur (Physics and Astronomy). (Zoom link)

"Civic Discourse: Healthy Democracy and Democratic Elections" at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 will feature 
Allison Rank (Politics), Juliet Giglio (English and Creative Writing), Bill Murphy (History) and Eve Benevides (Sociology). (Zoom link)

"Civic Discourse: The Economy" at 4 p.m. on Nov. 13 will feature Elizabeth Schmitt (Economics), Ranjit Dighe (Economics), Maureen Melville (Marketing and Management) and Gary Morris (Career Services). (Zoom link)

The events underscore the university’s commitment to civil discourse and civic engagement, promoting the exchange of ideas and search for the truth.
