A local Climate Action Rally, sponsored by the SUNY Oswego Anthropology Club, from noon to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, will join a worldwide effort to bring attention to climate issues.

The event will start with a march from Sheldon Hall to the Marano Campus Center lawn. Activities will include speakers, a performance by the Image Step Team and slam poetry, as well as information about challenges to the Earth's climate and environment.

The effort involving a coalition of student organizations on campus acts in concert with other events around the globe, as part of a Week for Future and Climate Justice movement surrounding the UN Climate Summit to bring issues to the attention of world leaders.

Local organizers said they are showing solidarity with the youth-led movement to demand governments and corporations take decisive action to tackle the climate crisis.
