Looking to land your next internship or full-time role in a data-oriented role? Join an interactive workshop from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, in 232 Marano Campus Center or over Zoom. The event is co-hosted by the Data Club, Career Services and Society for Human Resource Management.
The session kicks off with a special virtual guest, Peter Bisnett from the Department of Information Technology at the New York State Thruway Authority. Bisnett supports the data analytics team and will share insights into how data roles contribute to the business, particularly on the revenue side of operations. He will also highlight available data opportunities for students exploring careers in this space.
Afterward, Kate Graham of Career Services will guide you through the tools and strategies you need to navigate the job market with confidence. You’ll learn how to:
- Build strong, tailored resumes
- Optimize your LinkedIn profile
- Network effectively and follow up professionally
- Explore diverse career paths beyond “Data Analyst” or “Data Scientist”
Strategies will also be discussed for the upcoming Dream Big! Career, Internship and Graduate School Fair on Oct. 7.
Bring your laptop or mobile device for interactive activities, and take home practical resources including resume templates and a job search checklist.
If you can’t make it in person, you can join via this Zoom link.
