The “Know Before You Go: GYT" event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 9 on the Marano Campus Center concourse is a different Get Yourself Tested (GYT) event from past years.
Instead of holding testing and tabling inside the Dr. Mary Walker Health Center, organizers are bringing this informational event to a more central location to make sexually transmitted infections (STI) education and resources even more accessible to students.
Stop by to connect with Title IX, The Sexperts, Health Services, Planned Parenthood, and Oswego County Opportunities, who will be tabling and providing information on STIs, testing options and resources. Students can also learn about the new at-home STI testing kits.
The GYT campaign, created by the Centers for Disease Control, emphasizes that preventing, testing for and treating STIs should be easy and important. By reducing stigma and encouraging regular testing, GYT helps people take charge of their sexual health.
By stopping by, you can:
- Learn how and where to get tested for common STIs
- Get information on free and low-cost sexual health resources
- Participate in games, giveaways, and prizes
Organizers encourage you to take this opportunity to take control of your sexual health in a fun, supportive and judgment-free environment.
