Penfield Library has discontinued its daily closing for an hour (3 to 4 p.m.) for cleaning.
Custodial staff can accomplish cleaning and sanitizing of frequently used surfaces throughout the day without disrupting those using the library.
Penfield Library and the Office of Facilities Services have consulted to determine this solution is viable for students, cleaners and library personnel.
All those using the library are still required to follow current protocols: staying up to date on their testing (showing the “yes” screen in the COVID-19 testing verification app upon entry), passing their daily health screening, wearing masks and maintaining appropriate distancing.
