Are you a student interested in research or creative activities? Not sure where to start? Need help with funding your work or travel?

Are you a faculty member who wants to know about collaborating with and mentoring students? Do you want to know how you can help your students fund their projects, conferences, or travel? Are you interested in having a student help you with your scholarly endeavors?

ORCA -- the Office of Research and Creative Activities -- is available to help support students and student-faculty collaborations. With the support of the Financial Aid Office, there are 12 Federal Work Study (FWS) Research Assistantships opportunities available worth $2,000 each. Students gain valuable experience working with faculty, and faculty benefit from student help to support their scholarship.

Through ORCA, there are also student travel grants worth up to $500 each. They are available to support expenses for performances, exhibits, and conferences.

The office also manages three annual events: Quest, the Summer Scholars' Mixer and the Fall Poster Symposium.

To learn more about what ORCA has to offer, visit oswego.edu/rise or email orca@oswego.edu.

ORCA noted that everyone benefits from student-faculty collaboration, and those interested are invited to get started now.
