Penfield Library is hosting a Research Party for faculty and staff over spring break in Room 215 of the library from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15.

Organizers said these have been very popular with students, so they decided to extend the opportunity to campus faculty and staff members.

This is an informal, unstructured opportunity to ask questions, get help, and otherwise get some work done. All faculty and staff are encouraged to come talk with us and get answers to their library questions (research and otherwise).

Librarians will be on hand to discuss:

  • Library instruction and how best to leverage librarian support in your classes
  • Penfield's databases and which ones might be best for your research and/or classes
  • Collection development in your areas
  • The campus open access policy and the SUNY Open Access Repository
  • Other topics of interest

Note: There will be a short info session at 12:30 p.m. on the campus open access policy and the SUNY Open Access Repository (SOAR). Other than that, this event is not programmed/structured.

Pizza (and chocolate) will be provided for attendees.
