The college partners with the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations Work Life Services to again offer virtual Winter/Spring 2022 New York State Pre-Retirement Sessions from February to June 2022. Using the WebEx platform, these live sessions are conducted bi-weekly over two days using the following agenda: 

Session dates: 

February

  • Webinar Session I: Feb. 8 and Feb. 9   
  • Webinar Session II: Feb. 22 and Feb. 23  

March

  • Webinar Session I: March 8 and March 9   
  • Webinar Session II: March 29 and March 30  

April

  • Webinar Session I:  April 5 and April 6  
  • Webinar Session II: April 19 & April 20 

May

  • Webinar Session I: May 3 and May 4  
  • Webinar Session II: May 17 and May 18 
  • Webinar Session III: May 31 and June 1  

June

  • Webinar Session I: June 14 and June 15                                
  • Webinar Session II: June 28 and June 29   

Regular bi-weekly agenda: 

Tuesday - Day one 

  • 10 to 10:30 am: Overview (GOER-Work-Life Services) 
  • 10:30 to 11:30 am: NYS Deferred Compensation Program 
  • 11:30 to 11:45 pm: Break 
  • 11:45 am to 1:30 pm: New York and Local Retirement System 

Wednesday - Day two 

  • 10 to 10:15 am: Overview (GOER-Work-Life Services) 
  • 10:15 to 11:15 am: Social Security 
  • 11:15 to 11:30 am: Break 
  • 11:30 am to 1 pm: Health Insurance (NYSHIP) 

These important and informative webinars will provide the same live training as the in-person seminars, including the same valuable information as provided by the same presenters. As these are popular events, prior attendance rules will continue to apply. All employees will only be able to attend one (1) complete webinar session, one (1) time in their career. And, when live seminars do safely return, employees who attended these webinars will not be permitted to register and attend the live seminar. 

Prior eligibility criteria will also remain consistent. One (1) attendance is open to any employee who  

  • is at least 50 years of age and  
  • eligible to retire in five years
