The campus community is invited to a reception in honor of Julie Pretzat retiring from the post of dean of the School of Communication, Media and the Arts (SCMA), which she has held for the past seven years, from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, in Room 11 of Tyler Hall.
Pretzat first joined SUNY Oswego as an assistant professor in the Music Department, and plans to teach there part time for a couple more years before her full retirement. Along the way, she became chair of the department in 2002 before becoming associate dean of the then-new SCMA in 2008. Pretzat became SCMA dean in 2015.
The May 10 reception invites the many people who have worked with Pretzat over the years to say hello and share memories. The event will feature hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
