ImageOut, Rochester's long-standing LGBTQIA+ film festival will run its First Cut Spring Film Festival from April 24 to 29, highlighting LGBTQ+ stories through film and community conversations.
This spring's festival will feature a fresh lineup of films, guest panels and community discussions. A selection of titles will also be available online for those who can’t make the trip to Rochester.
Michele Thornton of SUNY Oswego's School of Business, who serves as board chair for the festival, has recommended two films to look out for:
- "Speak": A moving exploration of identity and communication showing at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Apr 26, at The Dryden Theatre.
- "Heightened Scrutiny": A timely documentary on civil rights and government surveillance in LGBTQ+ communities showing at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, at The Little Theatre 1
For those who can’t attend in person, a curated collection of films will be available online.
