Dear Members of the SUNY Oswego Community,

Following a competitive national search, I am excited to announce that Sara Rebeor has been selected to serve as SUNY Oswego’s next Assistant Vice President for Residence Life and Housing.

In this role, Rebeor will provide visionary leadership to enhance the operations, programs and services for a residence hall system comprising 13 residence halls, housing approximately 3,500 students and generating an annual revenue of approximately $35 million. Residence Life and Housing (RLH) leads the development of the strong residential character of the SUNY Oswego campus and provides a common core experience for much of the undergraduate community.

As a critical member of the Vice President for Student Affairs’ Cabinet and Student Affairs leadership team, Sara will initiate strategic planning and assessment activities to facilitate the development of the overall operation including student recruitment and retention, engagement of students in educational opportunities that exist to build community and facilitate student learning; support student success; and contribute to the achievement of SUNY Oswego’s academic mission and strategic priorities.

Rebeor arrived at SUNY Oswego 18 years ago to serve as a Community Development Specialist in RLH and has held progressively more challenging leadership positions since then. Most recently, she served as the Interim Director of Residence Life and Housing, and prior to that, served as the Associate Director.

Rebeor is a member of National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, American College Personnel Association, and Association of College and University Housing Officers International. She earned a bachelor of science in business administration and master of science in higher education administration and policy studies from the University at Albany, State University of New York.

Sara assumed the responsibilities of the AVP position effective Jan. 23, 2023, and we are excited to see her fully transition into this role.
