The university's State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) program is supporting SUNY Oswego's annual Yards for Yeardley event, the local Services to Aid Families (SAF) and It’s On Oz via a collection effort and online donations

Yards for Yeardley is an annual event on campus to prevent dating and domestic violence while honoring its victims, and the SEFA committee wanted to find ways to provide additional support.

With April recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and with the Title IX Office and It's On Oz interns coordinating Yards for Yeardley, a month-long donation event will supplement Yards for Yeardley’s in-person event on the Academic Quad from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 26.

You might see collection boxes and bins in campus buildings seeking supplies for SAF's effort to provide housing and essentials to local victims of domestic violence. SAF, an Oswego County Opportunities program, is a longtime campus partner.

The drive seeks items like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razors, face wash, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, mouthwash, towels, washcloths, twin bedding, menstrual products and gift cards.

In addition to collection boxes around campus, SEFA and Its On Oz will have collection boxes available on the day of the Yards For Yeardley event on campus.

The campus and Oswego community is welcome to take part on April 26. Registration is requested via a simple online form. On-site registration will be available as well.
