The college’s State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) program is supporting the college’s annual Yards for Yeardley event, the local Services to Aid Families (SAF) via a collection effort and a T-shirt fundraiser.

With April recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and with the Title IX Office and It’s On Oz interns coordinating Yards for Yeardley -- a virtual month-long walk to prevent dating and domestic violence while honoring its victims -- the SEFA committee wanted to find ways to provide additional support.

You might see collection boxes and bins in campus buildings seeking supplies for SAF’s effort to provide housing and essentials to local victims of domestic violence. SAF, an Oswego County Opportunities program, is a longtime campus partner.

The drive seeks items like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razors, face wash, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, mouthwash, towels, washcloths, twin bedding and gift cards. (If interested in donating gift cards, prepaid phone cards or prepaid phones, please contact Title IX Coordinator Lisa Evaneski at lisa.evaneski@oswego.edu.)

In addition, SEFA is hosting an online T-shirt sale to support the It’s On Oz/Title IX Foundation account. T-shirts cost $8 apiece, with touch-free pickup available, as well as an option to donate one to a student in a quarantine or isolation room. Deadline for T-shirt ordering is 8 a.m. on Monday, April 5.
